Don’t ask reception for a coffee before 06:30……..

I awoke fairly early on the morning of our 2nd day (05:30) instead of disturbing my wife in our wonderful bedroom using the coffee machine, I went down to reception with laptop in hand to complete a few emails, ask a very helpful young female receptionist would it be possible to take a coffee…not a problem sir, 1/2hr later the young lady wasn’t at reception to ask for another coffee, at that moment a young man walked passed reception arranging items in this area, sorry sir could I take another coffee (06:15)….mmm no you cannot I’m not here to serve you…the breakfast area opens at (06:30)…so I explained I had already had one provided….his answer was NOT MY PROBLEM, Shrugged his shoulders and walked away. 4 minutes later the young female appeared back at reception, I explained what had happened regarding the young man, she apologised and proceeded to provide me with a coffee. Just found out there names…. Compliments to Very helpful receptionist Varonica NAME & SHAME…. (Take the CHIP OFF YOUR SHOULDER) Front of house Thomas (ITS ONLY A COFFEE)

Well-located hotel with service above and beyond

This hotel was booked as part of a two-night extension following a Uniworld Danube River Cruise. It has a very good location that is a short walk to the Old Town area of Prague, and is attached to an excellent restaurant, with a sister restaurant across the street, both helmed by a celebrity chef. We ate excellent meals at each restaurant. The room was clean and elegant, although not especially large and it had no view to speak of. See photo. But I will always remember the hotel fondly for its stellar service. The night we arrived in Prague, I fell and twisted my ankle. I was having a very difficult time walking and thought the ankle might be broken. My wife spoke to the front desk people about possible urgent care facilities that might be available, etc. They provided some ideas and then offered us use of a wheelchair they had in storage. We were able to use the wheelchair that night and the next morning, used it to get to a hospital via a taxi. After being prescribed crutches, we were able to return the wheelchair to the hotel. (Side note: the medical care was good, everything was done in about 3 hours, and the cost was a fraction of medical care back home. The U.S. healthcare system is way overrated!) The hotel did not charge us for the use of the wheelchair and their kindness to me and my wife was genuine. Thank you, Cosmopolitan Hotel for going above and beyond in your service to your guests.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful rooms and very helpful and friendly staff. Its an easy walk to town Square and the railway station. The breakfast was amazing everything you could want even free fizz. There were restaurants around and the sister hotel the metropolitan across the roas. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Very clean, professional and perfectly located. I had 12 places to see and I was able to walk to all of them. I would start the day with an Uber to the furthest and then walk to sights on the way back to the hotel. It’s a quiet street with a world class chef next door
